A complete guide to the French school system

Each country has its own school system. In France it is very different from that of the United States or the United Kingdom. Let’s see how it’s made up

  1. 3 to 5 years

It’s kindergarten: it consists of 3 classes : Small section, medium section and large section

  1. from 6 to 10 years old

The primary school is broken down into 5 classes. CP: primary course, CE1 elementary course 1, CE2 elementary course 2, CM1 medium course 1 and CM2 medium course 2

  1. 11 to 14 years old

We enter the french ”collège” where we stay 4 years. In 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd.

  1. 15 to 18 years old

The last three years before higher education are spent in high school. In 2nd, 1st and Terminal.
